Sleeping Beauty progress

I ended up being sick yesterday and stayed home from work, but I managed to get a little bit done.

The basic dress is finished, except for hemming the chiffon skirt. Most of the work left is on the bodice. I need to sew the lining and collar in, and put the boning in place and get the grommets put in the back. I need to finish the "pointy thing" and get it attached to the bottom of the bodice.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

Since then the chiffon skirt has mostly been hemmed (sewing machine messed up after finishing the length of the bottom so just the pieces going up the front haven’t been finished. I usually take it as a sign to stop for the night when the sewing machine starts having fits like that.)
I got the pointy section remade (didn’t like my first one) and about halfway done yesterday, too. Once I finish that I’ll get the pointy section, the collar and the lining all pinned to the bodice and get those things sewn in place, and then get the boning put in and the grommets and we can call it a day 😛

I ended up wearing Belle saturday since I obviously didn’t get Aurora done, it was fun… short and sweet 🙂 A little odd since we just showed up, we weren’t invited like we usually are to things like this in Nashville, but once we found a nice spot in the center square we just stayed there and kids came up and took pics with us. We only stayed for maybe 30-45 minutes… it was cold outside!

I’ve been a little disappointed in the level of Halloween costume related emails this year… I’ve only got a handful and none really good enough to post. Mostly all I’ve gotten is a few messages asking something like, “great costumes. where did you buy them, my wife is looking for something for halloween.” I have gotten one requesting “STEP-BY-STEP instructions” on one of my more elaborate costumes – capitalization theirs, and one asking… well, I have no idea what they were asking, it was pretty illegible, about one of my older costumes. The only part of it I could figure out was they asked what material I’d used – but the rest of the letter made no sense. LOL.

Ok, better get to work.

If you are dissapointed in your emails I can help you out. lol

“Dear Kell, I just want to say what an amazing costumer you are! I really love your Belle Ballgown. I know you don’t sell costumes but would you be willing to make me one? I don’t have alot of money but I can pay you $25 but I really want it out of silk and my Halloween party is on Thursday. Yeah, it would be wonderful if you could do that!

    Love,

    Crazy Girl.”

Does that brighten your spirits??? 😉

That is truly gorgeous! Love that you went with the blue too!

And wow, people are just pretty stupid as a whole. It’s amazing the lack of reading that is out there.
